How do I protect my family from negative influences?
Family, protection is one of the highest duties of African parenthood — not just physical protection, but protection of the mind, the spirit, and the cultural identity of your children. The most dangerous influences today do not come through the front door — they come through the screen. Be intentional about media consumption: watch together, discuss what you see, and name the propaganda when you see it. Build your family’s cultural immune system by filling the home with African history, literature, music, and art — a child whose identity is rooted cannot easily be uprooted by a culture that does not honor them. Choose your children’s social circles with wisdom; peer influence is real and powerful. Establish family values explicitly and revisit them often. Protect their spiritual lives through prayer, meditation, or ancestral connection. A family with strong roots is the hardest target of all.
