What are the Neteru?
The Neteru are not gods in the Western religious sense — they are cosmic principles, divine forces that govern the laws of existence, given form so that the human mind could understand and work with them. King, when Kemet spoke of Ausar (Osiris), they were speaking of the principle of regeneration and eternal life. Auset (Isis) is the divine feminine, the power of love, magic, and restoration. Heru (Horus) is the principle of divine kingship and the victorious higher self. Tehuti (Thoth) is the principle of divine intelligence and record-keeping. Sekhmet is the principle of fierce healing and righteous destruction. Ma’at is the principle of truth, balance, and cosmic order. There are over 2,000 Neteru in the Kemetic system — each representing a specific force in creation. When you call on a Neter, you are aligning your consciousness with that universal principle. Africa gave the world its first theology.
